54 Month Update

The days are flying by with a brand new baby and an energetic four year old in the house.  Darren, Owen, Harper and I are trying to figure out our daily schedule and adapt to being a family of four. Miss Harper Adele has been a wonderful addition to our family and is such a good baby.  She eats a lot during the day and sleeps like a champ at night, all a new mom can ask for!  She has been sleeping for 4-6 hour stretches at night which has been great and Owen has adjusted to having a sibling in the house stealing some of his lime light. He sings her sweet sings and plays with her, check out the videos below.

Owen still has the skewed concept that it is normal to want to marry your sister and he still really wants to marry her one day. He told me that when a boy comes to marry her he is going to tell him, "You better give her right back", and he is serious. He even followed it with, "If you don't I am going to kick you right in the bum!" Don't mess with a McCarthy, we mean business when it comes to family!

Owen started school on Tuesday and absolutely loved it and has so much new learning to do.  We enrolled him in Montessori Jr. Kindergarten and he goes 4 days a week for 3 1/2 hours.  They will work on reading, writing, science, fine motor skills and will also attend gymnastic class once a week. His teachers seems super nice and ready to teach! He walked right in the first day, not a bit shy and ready to mingle. Darren had to struggle for a kiss goodbye because Owen was already halfway into the classroom.  Needless to say he is A-OK with being separated from his parents during the day!
